Anna Gunn

Anna Gunn has been an actress for over 20 years. Her most well-known role is her character Skyler White in The AMC show Breaking Bad for which she won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting actor in the Drama Series in 2013 and 2014. The actress has also appeared as Jean Ward in The Practice as well as Martha Bullock in Deadwood. Anna Gunn grew up in Sante Fe New Mexico and was awed by acting while attending Preparatory School. In the late 70's, she and her family moved to Ohio. She was a student at Northwestern University to study theatre and was also a student at the British American Drama Academy. Anna was a part of a couple of seasons performing in Chicago the theatre before moving to TV and film roles. Anna was cast as Arden on Down the Shore in the 29-episode series Down the Shore. Anna continued to be in film and television shows like Seinfeld, NYPD Blue and others until late the 1990's. Then she was cast in The Practice as Jean Ward. Martha Bullock, a character which she played for two years in Deadwood's second season. Skyler was her Breaking Bad role from 2008. Sully in addition to Deadwood was another movie she appeared in. Gunn also starred in David Schwimmer directed the film Sex With Strangers. The actress starred as the character Numbered Days in a four part audio podcast set in 2022. The love story between Walter White and his wife Skyler is often the backbone of the plot in Breaking Bad with the strained connection between them and the eventual end of their relationship echoing the same storyline of Walter White's final days of his life.
